Pets: Our Best Friends

Sometimes best friends are furry, slimy or feathered. Do you have a favorite pet? "It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them.” - John Grogan, American Author

Having a pet friend can be a rewarding experience. In addition to companionship, pets are a way to learn about responsibility and compassion. Plus there are many health benefits including exercise, socialization, and reducing loneliness, depression, and anxiety.

Most households in the U.S. have a pet. Do you? If not, you can still find ways to enjoy pets belonging to friends, family and neighbors and by volunteering at animal shelters. Check out these lives cams of cats and dogs currently hoping to be adopted.
